King Abdullah Meets Albanian President to Strengthen Bilateral Ties

(MENAFN) His Majesty King Abdullah and Albanian President Bajram Begaj met at Al Husseiniya Palace in Amman on Sunday to explore opportunities for deepening cooperation and advancing relations between Jordan and Albania, according to an official statement.

The discussions were attended by Her Majesty Queen Rania and Albania’s First Lady Armanda Begaj. The King noted that the visit presents an opportunity to further enhance bilateral ties, particularly following last year’s reciprocal visits and coordination efforts, which concluded with a round of Aqaba Process meetings in Jordan focused on interfaith dialogue.

Marking the holy month of Ramadan, His Majesty conveyed his best wishes to the Albanian people, describing the occasion as a reflection of the shared values between the two nations and their mutual commitment to fostering harmony and dialogue.

Addressing regional developments, the King praised Albania’s backing of initiatives aimed at restoring stability, advancing peace efforts, and achieving the two-state solution. During the meeting, which was also attended by HRH Prince Ghazi, the two leaders stressed that dialogue and peaceful approaches remain the only viable path to regional stability and conflict resolution. The King underscored the importance of respecting states’ sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.

For his part, President Begaj expressed confidence that his visit would help expand cooperation in investment, security, tourism, and development, highlighting strong potential for increased economic collaboration. He also mentioned visiting several religious and tourist sites in Jordan and emphasized the value of strengthening people-to-people ties, including by establishing a direct flight route between the two countries.

The Albanian president reaffirmed his country’s commitment to promoting stability and prosperity regionally and globally, while commending the King’s leadership and ongoing efforts to secure peace through the two-state solution.
